We are going WILD at our August CyberCrop

I'm sure most of us have read 'Where the Wild Things Are', and this cybercrop we are drawing inspiration from this fabulous book.

Are you going to go WILD??

Hi I'm Back

Howdy all,
I am back again. Won't fill you in on the grizzly details. Suffice to say I am still in considerable pain with a gaping hole in my gum and bone visible! Nuf said ugh!!

So, later on today, I will have a nice share for you. I have covered my second ideas book (the first one is almost full and i have had to start a new one lol). My idea books contain sketches and ideas for cards and other things. I usually carry it with me, cos you never know when you will be struck with inspiration.

I just need to make a protective plastic cover for it, then I can photograph it and pop it in here.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone who sent me one. I really appreciate all your kind thoughts.

Have a happy day,
Deanne

Just a quick note - I'll be MIA

Howdy!
I am off to the dentis today for some fillings and hopefully a tooth out (or two). I am not really looking forward to this, as I never enjoy dentist visits (even though I have a lovely dentist and her dental nurse is a gem). I may be away for a day or 2, depending how it goes, so I'll be back as soon as I can.

Hope you have a great day!

More swap shares

Hello there bloggers!
Today I am sharing a couple more swaps I have completed for StampHappy, one of the yahoo groups that I am in (a fab group for stampers in Australia & New Zealand).

This first one is a card swap. The theme was "Punches" and you had to include stamping and at least one punch somewhere on the card.

The cute little mouse is a Penny Black stamp from the "Bubbly" acrylic stamp set and the "friend" is from "For a Friend" (SU Hostess set from the current Australian/New Zealand IB&C). The punches I used are both from Stampin' Up! - the Star and Large Star. The green cardstock is Wild Wasabi (Stampin' Up!) with generic textured blue and yellow. The Wild Wasabi was run through my cuttlebug with the Spots n Dots embossing folder. The bling is Flower bling by Kaiser and generic round rhinestones.

This one is for an ATC swap. The theme is "All About Me" and had to include stamping.

I used textured purple cardstock (my fave colour - can you tell? hehehe). The stamp is from "Critter Party" unmounted acrylic stamps set by Penny Black. Plenty of bling bling (of course lol). The font is "Girls are Weird". I printed off all the words, ran them through my Xyron Sticker maker, cut them all up and stuck them down.

Thanks for looking!

Have a great day!

Holiday Class for UIW ladies

Hi there,

I am a bit late posting these photos. On Monday 14 July, one of my Monday ladies, Heather and her MIL Sheila, came to my place for a class.

The ladies had a play with the Zindorf Technique. To find out more about this terrific technique, pop over to Michelle Z's blog. You will be amazed!

This is the card they created (I didn't take a photo of the ladies' cards, as they were almost the same as mine :) )

They found this quite a challenge, so after lunch, they opted for some easy cards. So, easy it was. I grabbed some cards I had made very quickly some months back using a sketch from Little Scrapbook Shop's sketches gallery.

This is the original sketch:

And here are the lovely cards the ladies left with:

You ladies did a wonderful job and I love the cards you created!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

New Stamps from Jane!!

Hello again!!

I have been helping my friend Jane sort out her new blog for her shop Stampabit. I popped over to her house the other night to lend her my knowledge (not that there's a lot lol).

While I was there, I spotted some yummy new stamps, and picked them up to pay for when we were finished. I also grabbed some bling to finish off some ATCs I've been making for a swap.

So, when we were finished, I was getting ready to leave and Jane said I could HAVE the stamps! as a thank you for helping her. WOW! Thanks Jane! That was very unexpected and very generous!

So, here are the stamps. Can't wait to have a play!!!

KittyCat Jack's get well card - part 2

Hi again everyone!

Here we are, I found the card from Wirgie (in a bag of shopping lol!).

Isn't it just so cute!!
Thanks again Wirgie!! It is lovely!!

Get Well Card from Wirg - for Jack lol!

Hello!
The other day, when I collected my mail, there was an envelope from Wirgie. I knew it was a card (cos on the front it said "Handcrafted card, please do not crush". What I didn't know, was that it was a get well card for my kittycat Jack, who was neutered last week and was up bit strange for a few days afterwards.
So this very gorgeous card is for Jack (but I can pretend its for me lol). If I show him, he will just try to chew on it anyway, so its staying waaaay out of his way lol.

Thanks Wirgie, it put a giant smile on my face.

EDITED TO ADD: I scheculed this post to go today, and planned to photograph the card and add it before it posted. However, now I can't remember what I did with it *rolling the eyes here* so I will have to post a photo when it turns up. (I was out when I opened my mail, and don't know where I put it when I came home loL).

I've been published again!

Hey there!!
Well, I have been published again!! I was commissioned a few months back by Scrapbook Creations magazine to create a layout with doodling as the main focus (I believe "Dramatic Doodling" was the theme.

So, the magazine has been issued and my layout is in it!! Woohoo, so exciting. Unfortunately, the photograph in the mag does no justice whatsoever to the actual layout (its very orange in the mag).

Anyway, here it is for you to see. ALL of the doodling is hand drawn. I was going to use a template to draw the scallops, but changed my mind and went with freehand. I kept the colours simple (black and white with some red) to keep this gorgeous photo of my girls as the focus.

You can click on the image for a larger view (better to see the doodling lol).

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day!

Jack's Chair

Hello bloggers!!
Wanna see Kittycat Jack's chair? Well, here it is in all its glory!
He climbs onto the chair and tries to catch his tail as it swishes through the gap. It has only taken him a few weeks to to this!!
He loves his chair. His bed stays on this chair and he loves to lay there and sleep all day in the sun. He also loves to shred the foam (the amount of times I have had to sweep up foam bits off my craftroom floor . . . . . )

Thanks for stopping by today.

Cards for July 08 Cybercrop at Little Scrapbook Shop

Oh Derr Moi!! I just realised I can share the cards I made for the CC now, as the challenges were all posted up on Friday night.
As you know, I totally love stamping. I also love paper piecing, which is very similar to applique (another love of mine). So, I combined the two to created a challenge. The challenge was to use line art stamps and patterened papers (instead of colouring in) to make at least 3 paper-pieced images and use them in a card/cards and/or scrapbook page of any size.
Here are the cards and layouts I created for the challenge. If you would like to see the step by step instructions, click HERE and you will be taken to Little Scrapbook Shop forum and my challenge.
So, without further ado, here they are. . . you can click on the images for a larger view.

Enjoy.

"My Hero, My Dad"
"Daddy's Girl"
Michael says this photo is a true reflection of their relationship -
ie she walks all over him lol. I agree!!! hehehe

"Spaceman Cards"

Hello, I am still here

Hello everyone!!
Oops, I have been a bit slack keeping this up to date again.
The July Cyber Crop over at Little Scrapbook Shop is in full swing. There are some totally fantastic creations in our gallery. Why not pop on over and have a look!

I have some photos to share with you very soon of my very naughty kittycat Jack. He has totally demolished the chair that his bed sits on (seriously, he has torn it to shreds lol). He was desexed last week, so some of his more naughty behaviours have settled down a lot. He is still very cute and soft and fluffy, and he is such a mummy's boy hehehe. The kids can't understand why he loves me so much (I don't know, but hey, I'm not arguing!!!).

So, I will just edit them a bit (ie shrink them down to fit on the blog) and post them up a bit later.

Don't forget to pop on over the LSBS and check out the CC Challenges and the Gallery.

Have a great day,
Deanne

Some quick shares

Hi everyone,
Hope you have had a great weekend. We have been recovering for the gastro bug at my house. It seems to have only got myself and DH (got him worse), so I haven't done much creating.
I have been getting some things ready for the July CyberCrop at Little Scrapbook Shop, but I can't share those until after the CC.
However, I can share with you some cards I have received recently.

This first one is a lovely Thank You card I received from Missty. The clouds are paper flowers and the words have been stamped on in black. Thanks Missty! It was totally unexpected and I love it.
This little handbag is a lovely gift I received from my friend Jo. This was totally out of the blue and it is so nice. I don't often receive gifts for no reason, and this is just lovely. I even watched her making it and had no idea it was for me lol!
Sorry for the flash glare on this one - it bounced off the varnish.
The little bag is hand cut, as are the handles. Dontcha just LOVE the inside!! I DO love bling, and the verse is one of my fave sayings at the moment (lol, I think Jo heard me say it the other night hehehe), although I usually say, I've never met a bling I didn't like!! :)

These cards below are what I received in the Technique swap recently run in the StampinUpOzStyle yahoo group, hosted by Amanda Moore. They are really nice IRL and I am very happy with the swap. I can now share the details of the techniques used for my swap card, but I will do that in another post soon.
Thanks for stopping by today!
